He shakes his head, seeing the misunderstanding spread on her face. "No, I did not know. For ages upon ages, I have had an extensive network of eyes and ears, allowing me to know what was happening in case I could not witness it myself." He glances at his hand-- the injured one, in which he lost a couple fingers to the endless hunger spell Deathwing had cast. He pulls it beneath his cloak, then.

"But I am out of my element, much as you are. I did not know that dragonkin had attacked the elves; that has not happened in any of the timelines I witnessed, and it has caught me unprepared. I must discuss this with the other mages at once."

He pauses, not exactly dismissing her. Not yet. "If I may ask, how did you make your escape? Were any of the Sin'thalas elves killed?"

That wasn't exactly the definite answer she wanted to hear, but it makes sense. Rather, it makes enough sense that she doesn't feel like asking further until she's had a chance to rest. And at least Krasus seems genuinely uninformed, instead of interested in covering his lack of knowledge up. He can be forgiven, when she's in a more forgiving state of mind.

"To my knowledge, there were no casualties on either side. I was in contact with Rose of the Green Dragonflight before the other Dragonsworn mounted a rescue, and I shared information with her about the cell's layout and guard patrols. I am uncertain how she came across the cell's key, but she led the rescue without injuring any of the Sentinels."

Krasus doesn't enjoy having anger directed at him, but he would rather deal with it himself than have it tossed at Alexstrasza or his kin. This is something he regrets-- something he could have prevented. So the anger makes sense.

When he hears that the flights were working together, he allows a brief smile, though it doesn't reach his eyes. "You both did well. Now, you must rest."

She shakes her head. "Rose did well. The other Dragonsworn did well. I have been a burden to this Flight, and I will still be a burden to them if it is not corrected soon."

Vastania takes a breath to quell her anger - at him, at Sin'thalas, at herself. "They were convinced that I was one of the Man'ari invaders. This escape will only draw more suspicion to the Dragonsworn, if they are still convinced that I am Eredar. I want to find a respected ally among the Kaldorei to end these misunderstandings."

The smile disappears, whatever of it had lingered. "You have not been a burden. Do you think I have not seen your treatment of the other redsworn? You had a moment of weakness in being captured, but you were outnumbered and conscious of your appearance-- of your people's history. You cannot be faulted for that."

He shakes his head slowly after her declaration. "I will see if one of them can be contacted, myself. But it is a slow process, unfortunately; Deathwing has done much to ruin all chances of democracy."

Why is he making excuses for her? Of course she's been a burden! She endangered other Dragonsworn, she failed to convince the Sin'thalas Sentinels that they meant no harm, and she has undoubtedly been branded an Eredar trickster for escaping. If there is a way to undo that kind of damage to their reputation, it will take much longer than they have to spare while the Legion runs rampant.

But she keeps her mouth shut, much as she would like to object. It's extremely unlikely that Krasus will be swayed if she speaks her mind. If there's anything to be gained by speaking further, it's in planning ahead.

"If it can be done, I need to be a part of any discussions," she pleads. "I cannot sit out of sight and still expect the Kaldorei to accept me."

He closes his eyes, thinking for a moment, and then he nods his head. Surely nothing can go wrong if she's allowed to attend. Unlike many of the hotblooded redsworn, Vastania is well-spoken and well-mannered. She's also a capable, strong warrior-- something Sin'thalas could certainly appreciate, he hoped.

"I understand. In the meantime, it might be beneficial to speak to-- Rose, was it?-- and the others who aided the rescue. We may need their help to reopen communications."

She bows her head to him, half out of respect and half out of exhaustion. "It shall be done."

She looks back up, eyes heavy. Whatever little spark of magic Krasus used to bolster her was probably used up by her anger, and she once again feels her plate mail grow heavy. "Is there anything else you would ask of me?"

"No, nothing at all." He can see her energy starting to flag again. He touches her again, a brief touch, none of the previous magic there before. This time, he is gently turning her aside, guiding her toward a place to sleep.

"I will see what can be done. Now, rest."

Her first instinct is to resist and not budge, but there's no resisting the lure of her sleeping niche. Not after a week in a wooden cell, at least.

"Thank you, Krasus. May the Light keep you and yours."
